SSTSA and ATSA Conference: Venue

The Summer School for Translation Studies in Africa (SSTSA) 2016 begins next week – starting on Monday 29 August. (For more information, please click here.) The summer school ends on Friday 2 September, with the first Association for Translation Studies in Africa (ATSA) conference taking place on Saturday 3 September and Sunday 4 September. The first general meeting of ATSA will also be held during the ATSA conference. (For more information on the ATSA conference and the general meeting, please click here.)

Both events – the SSTSA and the ATSA conference – will be held at the University of Nairobi in Kenya and will take place in the same venue. This venue is called the Confucius Boardroom, located in room 213 on the second floor of the Education Building on the main campus of the University of Nairobi.

New publications

Two books by Susan Petrilli have recently been published. She writes about these publications, and the intersections with translation, as follows:

My work develops along the margins of semiotics, philosophy of language, linguistics and ethics (semioethics) and in that context always includes a focus on translation theory, whether in the form of specific chapters or sections disseminated throughout the whole book which is why I thought to write to you.

Events calendar: Germanic Society for Forensic Linguistics (GSFL)

The Germanic Society for Forensic Lingusitics (GSFL) is one of the fastest growing professional societies for applied linguistics in Europe. The society uses a calendar to advertise linguistics events of potential interest to practitioners, researchers, and students working in and around the disciplines of linguistics,  law, psychology, sociology, and crime.
